We’re thrilled to present “One Day,” an extraordinary exhibition by Jeff Hallbauer at Lobby Gallery, located on the ground floor of Three Bentall Center in downtown Vancouver.
Hallbauer’s work transforms the traditional art-viewing experience into an active, participatory event. By engaging with these pieces, you become part of the artwork itself, highlighting the collaborative nature of perception and imagination.
Exhibition Highlights
“Psychic”: This 7 ft neon pink monochrome masterpiece captures your attention immediately. Layered with acrylic wash, it vibrates with a pulsating energy, transcending its physical dimensions and connecting with the viewer’s inner psyche. It’s a stunning example of color affect that goes beyond the canvas.
“Cat” and “Dog” Diptych: These playful paintings draw inspiration from children’s connect-the-dot drawings. By leaving the images incomplete, Hallbauer invites viewers to mentally finish the figures, transforming them into collaborators in the creative process.
Dichromatic Installation: Featuring ten paintings rendered in optically-charged color pairs, each circle is numbered from 1 to 10. Together, they form a large-scale abstraction. Like “Cat” and “Dog,” these pieces encourage viewer participation, asking you to connect the dots across canvases and experience an invisible composition in your mind.
