Canderel and Maple Red Financial Management Canada celebrate LEED Gold® for Bentall Centre Towers I-II-III and LEED Platinum® for Tower IV in Vancouver
Vancouver, British Columbia, May 2nd, 2018 – Building owner Maple Red Financial Management Canada and property manager Canderel are very proud to announce that Towers I, II and III of the Bentall Centre office complex in Vancouver, have achieved LEED Gold® and Tower IV, LEED Platinum®, which represents the highest level of certification.
LEED, which stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a rating system that is recognized as the international mark of excellence for green building in over 160 countries and territories. The LEED Performance Pathway helps building owners and operators measure operations, upgrades and maintenance on a consistent scale, with the goal of maximizing operational efficiency while minimizing environmental impacts; and addresses whole-building cleaning and maintenance issues, indoor air quality, recycling programs, exterior maintenance programs, and systems upgrades.

Bentall Centre obtained Gold and Platinum levels thanks to many improvements made over the years to its operating and maintenance practices, including control optimization, utility submetering and a comprehensive LED retrofit projects, leading to the following impressive results:
Towers I, II and III
- Energy savings of 13% (4.8 million ekWh) between 2012 and 2017
- Waste diversion rate of 86%
- Energy savings of 11% (1.8 million ekWh) between 2014 and 2017
- Waste diversion rate of 82%
The Bentall Centre is committed to delivering a healthier and more environmentally-friendly work environment to its occupants by implementing a comprehensive and continuous sustainability program. The complex supports active living by making it easier for tenants to use alternative transportation modes such as cycling with numerous bike cages and an on-site car-sharing program. Bentall Centre is also proud of its very active “Tenant Green Team”, which meets every month to identify ways to collectively conserve resources and further connect with the community.
